About

This enchanting holiday home sits in the peaceful heart of the lush Clogher valley in between the ancient Greenhill and Littlemount bridges on the high slopes of the Colebrook River. The original single storey thatched cottage was built in the late 1800’s as a tenement farmhouse opposite the Whitepark Estate- famed for its flax growing and linen. The cottage was modernised in the late 1940’s with upstairs bedooms, a slate roof and electricity. An art deco bedroom fireplace and raked staircase speak of this time of growing prosperity in Ulster farms. In 2008 a rear extension added a beautiful large kitchen, beautiful master bedroom and spacious sitting room with gothic windows that capture sunsets over Topped Mountain.

Littlemount Farm Cottage retains every ounce of rural idyl: situated on a country lane with perhaps one car an hour passing with a friendly farmer waving. Nosey sheep and cows peer through the whitethorn and beech hedgerows to find out more about you. Swifts visit every summer to make their home in the barns and when they depart calves take their place to stay cosy during the colder months. Tread lightly: deer, red squirrels, hedgehogs and pine martens frequently criss-cross the laneways and fields surrounding the cottage.

The cottage has been refurbished with great style and flair to create a stunning home. All rooms blend sumptuous fabrics, comfortable furniture and modern lighting. On the ground floor is a welcoming split-level, open-plan kitchen-living area, with a superb inglenook fireplace made from bricks from Florence Court and a new wood burning stove. The kitchen is high-end with more than enough space flor eight people to be well catered for. There is a formal dining room to seat 8 with a bright botanical theme and reclaimed fireplace with views of Slieve Beagh beyond Brookeborough. Two of the four lovely bedrooms are downstairs: a double and superking size; both with double aspect windows. The downstairs bathroom with roll-top slipper bath makes a bold statement. The hallway ends in a lovely stable door opening up to the old south east facing front path that is perfect for a morning bistro espresso. A large utility~boot room is a rustic space after country walks and a roomy place to store hiking, golfing and fishing gear. There is a stable door here that opens out to steps leading down to a large south west facing patio area. Perfect for 8 people to enjoy supper on summer evenings surrounded by fields and stars.

Upstairs there is a bright twin room bedroom continuing the botanical theme. There is also a dressing room perfect for wedding and formal evening preparation with attached bathroom with an extra large shower. The master bedroom has a French chateau theme and is split level with superking size bed and en suite bathroom. The window opens out with views of the Blue Stack mountains in County Donegalpublic jetty at Carry Bridge, a 12 min drive or at Enniskillen, 16 mins, Climb Topped Mountain, 14 mins. A log fire restores you after your Fermanagh adventure. 14 mins to Killyhevlin hotel.
