About

A new era, inspired by the past.

A beloved destination for families, golfers, and holiday travellers, Slieve Donard is a local landmark that’s equal parts homey and breath-taking. The resort sits at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, on the edge of Royal County Down Golf Club, ranked no. 1 in the world by Golf Digest.

Slieve Donard's elegant new look is inspired by the hotel’s impressive history. Reimagined lobby spaces, guest rooms, bars and restaurants channel Slieve Donard’s original splendour.

Rooms

Freshly updated guest rooms evoke Victorian splendour, the hotel’s rich history and its glorious landscapes. Local legends grace the walls, while wilderness colours blend beautifully with custom designs to create an unforgettable stay.

Dining

From relaxed to upscale, Slieve Donard offers four options for drinking and dining in County Down. Menus champion in-season ingredients, with a focus on local produce, game and seafood.

JJ Farrall’s - Named after Slieve Donard’s architect, JJ Farrall’s sits at the heart of the hotel. Savour the very best seasonal and locally sourced beef, seafood and game, straight from Ireland’s larder, while enjoying the restaurants 19th century architecture and open fire.

Lighthouse Lounge – At Lighthouse Lounge, seasonal Mediterranean menus take inspiration from the cuisines and cultures of Italy, Greece and the Levant. Come by for casual lunches and dinners with views of the Slieve Donard lawns and coast.

The Wolf – Intimate and richly decorated, Wolf Bar is the hotel’s social centre. Our cocktail menu features classics with a Slieve Donard twist, inspired by local history. The bar also offers a wide-ranging wine list and draught beers. Relax and enjoy a plate of local Carlingford oysters, a platter of local cured meats and cheeses, or any number of snacks, pastries and sandwiches.

The Percy French – At the foot of the Mourne Mountains, local favourite The Percy French serves pub classics, regional fare, bar snacks and traditional Sunday roast – all with a focus on in-season and local produce. A wide-ranging wine list sits alongside draft beers and a menu of classical inspired cocktails.

Spa

Enhance your Slieve Donard experience with a visit to The Spa. Spanning two floors, it’s a destination for relaxation and wellbeing. Book a blissful treatment, unwind in the thermal suite or take a swim – all while enjoying stunning sea and mountain views.

Awarded #96 in the Irish Independent's "Hot 100 Hotels" 2024, this elegant resort makes for the perfect getaway.
