About

St Patrick's Day Parades will be the centre of celebrations in Newry City and Downpatrick on St Patrick’s Day. Led by Saint Patrick himself, the St Patrick's Day Parade in Newry City on Monday 17 March 2025 will offer a feast for eyes and ears as swirling dancers, community floats and costumed characters entertain the crowds.

In Newry City, the St Patrick's Day Parade departs from Albert Basin at  13:00 and will proceed along Merchants Quay, Sugar Island, ending at The Mall.  

St Patrick's Festivities will be happening in Newry City from 12:00 to 16:00 on St Patrick's Day.The are plenty of St Patrick's festivities planned for Newry City including the St Patrick's Day Parade, live music, dance, family friendly entertainment zone, ceili, climbing wall and family activities at Newry and Mourne Museum.  

Main Festival Stage will be located aMarcus Square.

13:00 - 14:00  Gaolta (Irish Traditional Folk Group)

14:00 - 15:00   Gavin Gribben Band

15:00 - 16:00  The Nooks

The afternoon will be compéred by Declan McConaghy

Ceili , Dance and Kids' Zone 

12:00 -13:30 Kilted Dance Exhibition Featuring the Mark Wilson Band 

12:00 - 14:00 Festival Ceili with the Oisin McCann Ceili Band

13:00 - 16:00 Kids Arts and Crafts in the Kids' Zone tent

Hill Street Hooley - Funfair Rides, Climbing Wall, Arts and Crafts Stations, Street Trading, Street Performances, and Changing places available

St Patrick's Family Village located at McClelland Park – 9-hole crazy golf, Puppet shows, Music, Interactive games, Arts and Crafts, Facepainting, Community Tribal Drummer and Climbing Wall

Newry and Mourne Museum for St Patrick's Day - Festive activities, Sensory Workshops (booking required), arts and crafts and live music.

Music out and about
Sharon Carroll, Crooked Lake Community Collective Choir, Yew Tree Ukes rocking their ukeles in The Quays Shopping Centre and Casino Dixieland Jazz Band in Buttercrane Shopping Centre.
